The National Dairy Council and DairyMAX, in full partnership with the Houston Independent School district and other public and private partners, brought a breakthrough approach to change already proven in the business world into the school environment.

MCI WorldCom Foundation was telecommunications giant’s corporate philanthropy division. It focused solely on developing and providing “MarcoPolo: Internet Content for the Classroom,” a free K-12 education initiative available in all 50 states.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is the nation’s largest philanthropy devoted solely to the public’s health. The Childhood Obesity initiative backs projects that will help reverse the childhood obesity epidemic by 2015 by improving access to affordable, healthy food and providing more opportunities for children to play and exercise in their schools and communities.

The West Virginia Humanities Council is a private, nonprofit organization providing lifelong learning opportunities to the state’s citizens. It is a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Shepherd University
Shepherd University is a liberal arts institution located one hour from Washington, D.C., in historic Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Linda began as an Assistant Professor of English at Shepherd in 1991 and left in 2006 as a tenured Professor of English at Shepherd University. While at Shepherd, Linda was named the West Virginia Professor of the Year.
